Singer/Songwriter Extras:

While Michele Vreeland and John Enghauser have outstanding releases that can accurately be placed under the singer/songwriter designation, there’s very little of the alt.country, folk or progressive bluegrass flavor that many listeners automatically assume will be the case with anything carrying this tag. Vreeland’s Never Not Myself has a pronounced rock/pop feel, while Enghauser’s Lost In the Pages intersperses Latin, jazz and blues sensibility within its rock framework.

Vreeland’s voice is smooth and prominent, but doesn’t lack intensity or authority. Her subjects include female empowerment and the nature of friendship (”Nico”) as well as optimism and identity (”LA Dream”). Some numbers feature acoustic backgrounds with minimal production, while others employ echo effects with multiple textures and layers. Still, the arrangements and focus outline Vreeland’s driving, confident leads and solid singing and writing skills.

Enghauser’s been involved in many musical styles dating back to his days playing rock in the ’90s. The title track of Lost In The Pages lyrically riffs on the erratic nature of stardom and the music business, while “Still Waters” and “Breathe Again” present a softer, sentimental side. But Enghauser, who plays bass, all the guitar and keyboard parts plus adds lead vocals, proves a masterful performer in every capacity.

Though neither Michele Vreeland’s nor John Enghauser’s discs fit into another area commonly seen as home to singer/songwriters — Americana — fans who enjoy intelligent lyrics, catchy yet not overly simplistic melodies and energetic playing and singing will enjoy Never Not Myself and Lost In The Pages.

Nominated for Best Female Singer-Songwriter of the Year, Michele Vreeland stays true to herself by determination and working hard.

“You just keep doing what you do. I’m a big believer in you just don’t worry about anyone else you just keep doing what you do. You just keep doing what you’re doing. That’s what you do,” said Vreeland.

At the same time, Vreeland has been running around promoting her music. She just returned from the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference.

There are hundreds of artists that attend the event, but Michele stays positive her music will be heard.

One of her songs, “Nico”, is like an homage to some of the girls out there that are misunderstood, but her
songwriting style tells a story.

“It’s just a very empowering song for girls who maybe aren’t feeling like 100 percent like the perfect girl,” said Vreeland.

You can be apart of the SXSW experience by sending Unsigned singer/songwriter Michele Vreeland from Los Angeles to Austin TX. In just a few short weeks she heads off to one of the most exciting music festivals of the year. And you can play a huge role in being apart of this. This is all being done last minute due to a sponsor bail out. So she needs your help!!

It is quite costly to go there with hotels, Food, Airline tickets, Car rental and more. $2000 is really the lowest cost you can go to this fest for. With your support Michele can not only go, but showcase herself in the best possible way. If 200 people gave $20 we could make this happen. Easily. And you would play a big role in all of this.

All contributors get a Live DVD of footage (Made by Michele) of the SXSW festival.  Michele already has 2 showcases on the famous 6^th street, and many amazing meetings and parties set up with industry folk from all across the globe (who knows maybe she’ll come back a huge star…hehe, and it would all be Thanks to you!).
